Our principal engineer holds an active Professional Engineer license in Texas, New Mexico, Colorado, Montana, North Dakota, Alaska and Wisconsin, plus professional registration in Alberta, British Columbia and Saskatchewan. Tundra Engineering holds the corresponding firm registration in the jurisdictions where we practice, including registration with the Texas Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors. Drawings and specifications are sealed by the engineer who did the work, not sent out of state for a courtesy stamp, and licence and registration numbers are provided on request for prequalification.
That license footprint is the practical reason to use one firm. The same engineers who work an Alaska North Slope project can seal a facility in Texas or New Mexico without the package being handed to a third party for a jurisdictional stamp, and without a new firm relearning the asset each time the work crosses a state line.
What we do from Houston
The problems are the same on both sides of the border, and the same bench answers them here and from our Calgary, Alberta office: a plant that cannot take more inlet volume, a treating train that will not meet spec, compression that is undersized for where the field has gone. We are an independent EPCM firm, not an equipment vendor and not a fabricator, so the specification we write is the one the facility needs rather than the one that suits a supplier.
Scope typically runs from process review and measurement through detailed design, procurement, construction management and commissioning, with continuity of engineering staff across the whole project.
US project experience
Our American oil and gas work has been on Alaska’s North Slope, supporting an Alaskan explorer moving acreage from discovery through appraisal and toward production testing. North Slope work is demanding in a specific way: everything is remote, the construction window is short, logistics run through Deadhorse and the Dalton Highway, and a facility has to tie into an existing production and pipeline network rather than be designed in isolation. An operator that can survive a schedule built around ice roads and a single haul route can survive most things a Texas project will throw at it.

Separately, we engineered an industrial-scale carbon removal facility in Berthoud, Colorado for Capital Link Green. That is heavy industrial process work rather than oilfield work: a continuous pyrolysis plant converting waste biomass into biochar, bio-oil and syngas, with the syngas recycled to fire the process so no supplementary fuel is required. Thermal process design, combustion and gas handling, robotic automation, modular packaging for replication and emissions performance were all central to it. So the US record is arctic oil and gas facility work plus heavy industrial process design, both delivered under our own seal. What it does not yet include is a Texas reference project; our gas processing, treating and compression record is Canadian. If a Texas project is a hard prequalification requirement, say so up front and we will give you a straight answer on fit.
Texas regulatory context
Facility projects in Texas sit under a different framework than Canadian ones. Oil and gas operations answer primarily to the Railroad Commission of Texas, while air permitting and environmental compliance run through the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, with federal requirements layered on top. Permitting sequence and emissions authorization frequently drive the schedule more than engineering does, which is why we bring it into scope early rather than treating it as a downstream approval step.
